Director of Memory Care

Magnolia Springs at Bridgewater in Carmel is looking for someone who can ensure that the Memory Care Program and the Magnolia Springs’ Philosophy for this program are implemented and practiced within the specialized unit in the community.

The candidate will oversee the caregiving staff which will include being on call, scheduling, updating/monitoring assignment sheets, and conducting Functional Needs Assessments upon move in and on a scheduled basis.

Other duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Perform budget analysis, review and control.
  • Make copies as needed and manage and update emergency packets, appointment books, etc.
  • Provide support to frontline staff as needed.
  • Handle all Memory Way family and resident concerns, questions, feedback, etc.
  • InService meetings and trainings scheduled or as needed for Memory Way staff.
  • Oversee dining services on Memory Way.
  • Behavioral interventions and problem solving.
  • Daily/weekly interaction with MDs, pharmacies, families, etc. and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain records of when resident assessments are due and complete them timely.

The applicant must be knowledgeable about the disease process, the changes associated with dementia illnesses, how they affect the individual’s ability to function, and the adaptive strategies that help maintain a resident’s abilities.
